The mud tires do kick up lots of snow, it would have made for some epic slo-mo shots.

I also scored 2 interviews next week. One at tool plant , & one at a body shop (specializes in heavy trucks, & industrial equipment). The tool shop pays more & has better benefits but it twice as far to drive as the body shop. The body shop sounds fun(how can you not love really big trucks) but it less pay & has no benefits. It’s also 1/2 as far to drive as the tool shop.

Tough call. Benefits are not to be undervalued. But if money is not a strong concern, try something you really want to do. You have the rest of your life to do things you have to do.

The tool shop is same about distance of what I drove to my old job, it’s just in the other direction . Even if I do get offers for both I’m leaning to the tool shop due to the: Group Insurance, p ension, & benefits.

Big trucks are cool. Also fairly simple to work on. In most cases, when something is stuck, you just get out the hammer. If it doesn’t work, you get a bigger hammer. Brake drum stuck to the hub? Wail on it with a 10lb sledge. If it cracks before  breaking loose it was already compromised.

This shop does not do much mechanical, it’s mostly body work. They do some custom paint for heavy wreckers too, that be really fun.
